Brendan Foley : Goal Keeper

A great character and big prescence on the team. Lets his long suffering full back line know all about it! Has a mammoth puck of a ball and fancy's himself for a crack at the puc fada! Has been known to spend up to four hours after training practising frees from inside his 45 , or until he actually scores one.

Mike Culhane : Corner Back

Our very own cross-breed between Michael O Halloran and Phil Lynott. A tidy hurler with his own fan base. Has a worrying tendency to let his feelings on his full backs performance be known to all and sundry during the game.

Christy Roseny : Full Back

"The Rock" on which our full back line is built (or will perish on, depends on who you talk to!) Tough as really really tough auld rusty tough nails. Youngs lads at training have been known to fake injury to avoid marking him . (They didnt have life insurance)

Ian "Nutz" O Halloran : Corner Back

A gifted man with a hurley in his hand. Very skillful with a great dummy. Has played for Clare at numerous levels.Learnt the art of repairing and making hurleys off the master (Jimmy Ryan of Newport) himself. Has a nice little workshop going. He is currently being investigated by the Revenue Commissioners in relation to tax fraud as he makes vast sums from his business yet claims none?

Brian "Coco" McKeogh : Wing Back

Younger brother of Paul, Brian possess a great darting run and is very hard to stop on one of his trademark mazy solo's. Scored a great point in last years final. Is on a sabbactical to Brazil at the moment.

Seamus Gleeson : Centre Back

A LIT construction graduate Seamus is a great man with ball in hand. Played most of his hurling at full back before being moved further out the field. Great feet and agility for such a big man. Has been known to hook his markers from over 15 feet away .This is due to his scarily long reach. ( In contention with Willie Neary for the loud mouth of the year award)

John Culhane : Wing Back

John is a brother to Mike (see corner back). Has a huge heart and gives his all. We all remember the night you got sick at training John, during one of those "no surrender diagonal runs" , late dinner? Yeah yeah yeah. Our very own Sonia O Sullivan, John likes to run in his spare time.

Trevor Howard : Mid Field

One of our star players. Teak tough with a great heart and first touch. Has played U-21 and intermediate for Clare. Trevor loves to go forward (and get all the glory himself!!). Plays for Bridge Celtic soccer team. In contention with John Cusack for speedy gonzales award.

Shane Toughy : Mid Field

A neighbour to Brian McKeogh, Shane is a very skillful hurler. Played for the Clare minors in 2002. Scored a lovely point in last years final after being removed from his corner forward role of earlier in the campaign. If Shane could drive as much ball into the forwards as he does tractors and lorries we'd be All Ireland champions.

Shane O Brien : Wing Forward

Studying civil engineering in UCC. ( Tony enroled him so he could build a new bridge to Ballina and be elected to the Dail as transport minister as a result). Has represented his county with distinction. Shane is a citog but he is a good two sided player. Very accurate with the free although he is injury prone.

Patrick Aherne : Centre Forward

Another one of the "Bridge" crowd. Played most of his hurling at midfield before switching to centre forward. Likes to shoot from distance. Studying Electronic engineering in UL. Got sent off after last years U-21 final had ended, in an "accidental incident".

Brian Lenihan : Captain & Wing Forward

"Lenny" is a true stalwart and a great warrior. Has stood the test of time and is now facing his 45th year playing for the senior team. Leads from the front and by example. A good free taker with great vision. Fond of solo runs if he gets half a yard!

John Cusack : Corner Forward

Went to Flannans, St Annes not good enough? Won a harty last year. Dual star on U-21 football and hurling. A great man for a few scores with a deadly swerve and burst of speed. Every backs mightmare at training (Esp. Christy)

Kevin McCarthy : Full Forward (or where ever Rodge puts him)

One of the "more experienced crew". The big man is a versatile player. Played the "sweeper" role very well in last years finals. Great hands and a tough cookie. Kevin recently built his house and got married last year! Awwwwwwwwww.....

Willie Neary : Corner Forward

Graduated from Smith O Briens intensive youth acadamey recently. The peoples champion! Has a big heart but an even bigger mouth. Destroyed some useless Clarecatle corner back (3-4) last year. Has been immortalised ever since. Word has it the statue for main street is nearly finished.

Martin Haugh aka Haughty [hock it teeeee]

A free transfer from Ahane (the spuds are boiling) is another crowd favourite. Played a vital role last year. Not as fond of training as he is of his food & drink. An accomplished block layer good old Ma loves laying things alright!

Paul McKeogh : Forwards

Brother of Brian. Has given great service to MacGabhann Ui Bhriain through the years. Great striker of the ball off left and right. Came on in last years final.

Conor Hayes

The man from Bridgetown himself. A great slap of a ball has conor.Came back to the club after a few years in the wilderness (Cooneys). Scored a screamer of a goal in the league last year.

"Taylor" McCarthy

The elder statesman of the panel. He told me he was retired a few months ago. Rumour has it he is to be coaxed back to play with a generous contract of 5 pints in reddans after every training session (and a multi million euro sponsorship deal with nike)

Joesph Furlong

No nasty stuff here! A true gentleman with the attitude and committment every manager dreams of. Recently turned twenty one. Has been going out with Yvonne for twenty of those.

Johnny Healy : Keeper/Selector/Referee/Sports Physcoligist

A true legend. Recently interviewed on KRFM's sports watch, memory lane segment with Naoise Lawlor. An accomplished referee we all have high hopes for Johnny in the future. Will tog out for the team until he's 74 if he has his way.

Stephen McCarthy: Quay/Reddans/Seanacaoi/Mollys

A nippy corner forward is Stephen. A budding Ronaldinho for the local soccer team. Has a bag full of tricks that would but damien duff to shame. Steve is among the youngest on the panel and is one for the future.

James Flannery: Fairyhouse/Aintree/Cheltenham

James starred for Clare at underage playing with the likes of Andrew Quinn and Gerry O'Grady. A great competitor and goal poacher. Works with Charlie Swan and recently had his first winner in the Killaloe point to point. However is under investiagtion for the use of banned substances (bacon & cabbage) on this winner. The outcome is eagerly awaited.

Brian & Fergal Kenny: The shop

"The Shop Keepers from the green" (Paul McCarthy) are blow in's from Limerick! Similar to Martin Haugh. Skillful hurlers with big hearts and even bigger swings. Often used to soften up other teams star players and with amazing efficency!

Michael Crotty : Corner Froward

Another graduate from Michael Drew's school of hard knocks (Bridgetown N.S.) Recently upgraded to Azzuri's new shiny balck helmets. Keen hurler and yet another youngster for the future.

Eric "Mole" Monaghan : Goal Keeper

Successfully repositioned in the Minor campaign of 2002 he has matured into a confident self assured shot stopper. Sure to be between the sticks in future years. Skilled hand baller having recently competed in Ballina's competiton and won the doubles with his father alfie.
